About ToolsForge
ToolsForge is a free, browser-based tools platform built for speed, privacy, and simplicity. No signups. No uploads. No paywalls.
Why We Built ToolsForge
Most "free" online tools aren't really free. They make you create an account before you can use them. They upload your files to their servers. They watermark your output unless you pay. They slow every click down with interstitials. We built ToolsForge because we were tired of all of that: every tool here is genuinely free, runs entirely in your browser, and never sends your files to a server.
How the Tools Work
ToolsForge uses capabilities that are built into modern browsers. PDF tools are powered by the open-source pdf-lib and PDF.js libraries running as JavaScript and WebAssembly in your tab. Image tools use the Canvas API to decode, redraw, and re-encode pictures. The background remover downloads an AI segmentation model once and then runs it locally via WebAssembly. In every case the computation happens on your own hardware — which is exactly why the tools are fast, work without an account, and can honestly promise that files never leave your device.
Because processing is local, most tools even keep working if your connection drops after the page has loaded (the background remover is the exception the first time, since it must fetch its model).
The Tools
- PDF — PDF Compressor, Image to PDF, and PDF to Image.
- Images — Image Compressor, Background Remover, and SVG Converter.
- Files — File Converter for common image, text, JSON, and CSV conversions.
- Code & text — Code Screenshot, Text Case Converter, and Color Tools.
That's the complete, current list — ten tools. When we add one, it gets a page with the same standard: a working tool, an explanation of how it works, a worked example, and an honest section on its limitations.
Who It's For
Freelancers shrinking a portfolio PDF before emailing it. Students converting lecture scans. Developers grabbing a code screenshot for a blog post or checking a color contrast ratio. Small business owners making a product photo transparent. If you can drag and drop a file, you can use every tool here — no technical background needed.
Privacy, Honestly Stated
Your files are processed on your device and never uploaded — that part is architecture, not a promise. We run no analytics scripts and have no user accounts. The site is supported by Google AdSense advertising, which may use cookies as described in our Privacy Policy, along with instructions for opting out of personalized ads.
Accuracy & Limits
Browser-based processing has real limits, and we'd rather tell you about them than surprise you. Very large files are constrained by your device's memory. The PDF compressor restructures and strips data but cannot re-encode embedded images the way desktop software can, so savings vary a lot by file. The SVG converter produces monochrome traces suited to logos, not photographs. Each tool page has a "Limitations & Privacy" section that spells out exactly what that tool can and cannot do — please read it before relying on a result for anything important, and always keep your original file.
